Dannii managed to get herslef a pay-rise and will earn £600,000 for her work while Cheryl will pocket £250,000 for her part in the ITV1 series.
A production insider said: "Cheryl is thrilled to be on The X Factor and was happy with her deal - it's still a huge amount of money.
Geordie Cheryl was drafted in to replace Sharon Osbourne, 55, who quit the series after four years when she gave Simon Cowell an ultimatum: "It's Dannii or me" ...and lost.
Cheryl said: "Although it's scary joining a huge programme like The X Factor, it's a massive honour to be following in the footsteps of Sharon Osbourne."
