I cannot - repeat, CANNOT - believe that I'm saying this, but: Mary-Kate Olsen is maybe possibly kinda not the entirely brainless stick-figure that I maybe possibly might have called her once or twice. I mean, seriously: girlfriend spend a whole minute or two with David Letterman slagging on Spencer Pratt and if that isn't evidence of at least one or two brain cells, I don't know what is.
Granted, she appeared to be stoned the entire time and there were one or two moments when she seemed to forget how to string words together, but she gave David Letterman an opportunity to riff on Spencer's worminess and oiliness (his words) and that was cool, for serious. That she also waxed stoner-happy on kissing Ben Kingsley - 'making out with Gandhi' - in her new movie was just a bonus. Who knew that I could get a whole three or four laughs out of watching Mary-Kate Olsen, and not be laughing at her?
(That Spencer is now slagging on her - he did, I believe, refer to her this weekend as 'the less-cute twin' - just compels me to like her more. The enemy of my enemy is my friend kinda thing. You know.)
