Still smarting from the
suggestive-picture controversy that has continued to dominate entertainment headlines,
Miley Cyrus made her first public appearance on Saturday night at the Disney Channel Games concert in Orlando, Florida.
According to People.com, the singer previewed during her set at Disney World two new songs, "Fly on the Wall" and "Breakout" – both of which are due to appear on her yet-untitled July 22 album – and also thanked fans for their support as she weathers the Vanity Fair controversy.
"I hope you had an awesome time," Cyrus said on the red carpet, according to People.com. "I saw a sign back there that said, 'Miley, I'm praying for you.' I could not be more appreciative. Thank you, guys, for all your support. Without you, none of this would be possible. I love every one of you, and I could not be more appreciative. God bless you."
Late last week, The Associated Press reported that Cyrus had planned to appear at a media party on Friday to make her first planned public appearance since the controversy started, but the appearance was reportedly nixed. Cyrus did sign autographs at the entertainment hub on Thursday, however.

For those of you who have been living under a rock, Cyrus' controversy stemmed from recent Vanity Fair photos that showed the 15-year-old's bare shoulders and back. Prior to Saturday, the singer hadn't commented much on "Mileygate," save when she
said that she was "embarrassed."
"My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy," she said. "For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with [photographer] Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed."
