Nick Bollea Sentenced to Eight Months in Jail

Nick Bollea, also known as Nick Hogan, was sentenced to eight months in Pinellas County (Fla.) Jail for felony reckless driving Thursday.

The sentence was handed down after he pleaded no contest in court.

A judge also gave the quasi-reality TV star five years probation, 500 hours of community service and a three-year drivers license revocation.

Nick Bollea will not be able to drink for the duration of his probation, and will attend DUI education classes within one year.

Nick Bollea, pictured in November above, will do time.

The 17-year-old Nick Bollea donned a light colored suit to Pinellas County Court and stared straight ahead as the sentence was read.

Sitting behind him was a black-clad Hulk Hogan, who was seen praying during the proceedings and grew teary-eyed, sister Brooke Hogan, who wore a top with the shoulders cut out, and Hulk’s soon-to-be ex-wife, Linda Hogan.

Nick Bollea was arrested last November on reckless-driving charges stemming from an August 26 car crash. An eyewitness said Bollea and a pal were racing at more than 100 mph when Nick’s yellow Toyota Supra slammed into a tree.

Two hours later, alcohol was detected in his bloodstream.

John Graziano, who was in Nick Bollea’s passenger seat and not wearing his seat belt, was seriously injured. A report filed in court in September said he will likely spend the remainder of his life in a nursing home.

“My life now consists of 10 hours each day at a hospital watching my son suffer,” John’s father said in a statement.

“Nick has shown no remorse for what he’s done for my son.

Added John Graziano’s sister: “We have never once heard him apologize for what he’s done or take any responsibility for any of his actions.”

Hulk Hogan said that he loved John “like a son,” and Nick told the Graziano family that he “loved John to death” and hadn’t driven since that night.

“I think there has to be some punishment,” the judge said, disagreeing with the defense claiming the crash was an accident. “But I believe there is a sincere desire, a sincere apology, to change things… [but] there are consequences for what you do in these circumstances.”

Nick Hogan will next appear in court on November 11 to address restitution to the family of John Graziano.

The 8 months sentence handed down to Nick Bollea should result in the removal of the judge for being so kind to Mr Bollea. The victim, Mr Graziano put his life on the line in Iraq for OUR freedom and now will have to be given a bath by his Mother as he is helpless from Nick's driving and drinking and speeding. What a tragic outcome of what REALLY is NOT fair justice. 5 years is not enough time to let Nick think over what he caused several people the remainder of their lives! PLEASE DO NOT REELECT THIS JUDGE AGAIN AS HE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO PASS OUT A SENTENCE THAT FITS THE CRIME. WHAT A SMAME! 8 MONTHS! SHAME!

Hell no. He should have used common sense. He was the driver, he put his life in danger and his friend.
Unfortunately, his friend was almost killed and suffering in a nursing home. This could have been avoided had Nick used common sense. He should have gotten more time. He should have to go to the nursing home and watch his friend and see what he did to him.

With all due respect, and I am sensitive to the subject since I lost at least 3 friends to car wrecks in the past. This guy is 17 years old! Kids make really stupid mistakes (take it from me,I'm a mother). This may just do the trick into "scaring him straight." At his age, Prison is a big deal. Let's face it, at any age it's a HUGE DEAL! And, everybody is entled to making a mistake, whether lifethreatening or not. It's repeating those mistakes that makes you a dope with no soul! Give him a chance to make ammends. I believe these "screw-ups" end up making people better human beings, so long as they take the lesson and don't elude it.
Right now is a time to count his blessings. He's alive, so is his friend and he will recover. The bad part is obvious, but with this guy working hard on himself from the inside out, we should be seeing a whole new boy, just in time for manhood! Thank God it wasn't worse! I am in no way shape or form condoning wreckless, drunken driving! I just feel it's hypocritical of any of us to claim we have far higher judgement at all times in our own lives."He who is free from sin shall cast the first stone." Need I say more? Pray for him and this guy he harmed. It wasn't intentional. Drop your stones.

Yeah Nick was a dumbass and was speeding but his friend had to have known. EVERY ONE in AMERICA knew that Nick speeds. Plus in the police reports it says that John wasn't wearing a seatbelt. thats his fault not Nicks. I'm not defending nick I'm just saying it not just his fault. John knew what he was getting into. Him and Nick had ben friends for a while it wasn't like they just met and took a joy ride.

This is bull... EVERYONE in America knew that Nick raced. EVERY ONE even John. They were long time friends. Nick knew that he was putting himself at risk getting in the car with Nick. They were probably BOTH drinking. Plus in the police reports it says John wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Gonna blame that on Nick too?
I'm not saying what he did was ok but please John knew Nick, he knew he was drinking, he knew he liked to speed and race and he STILL got in the car with Nick WILLINGLY and DID NOT wear a seatbelt.

I stand corrected. It has since come to my attention that this young man was not so innocently experiencing new within the scope of driving wild. It is true that he should get a far greater sentence than this. It's amazing how bias the court system is towards celebrity.I, for one have had first hand experience & know it to be a fact rather than a simple opinion. Such a shame is right.
