Brangelina Twins-Million Dollars Babies Are Honorary French Citizens

Angelina Jolie has given birth to a girl and a boy.The obstetrician , Dr. Michel Sussmann, who delivered the twins, said that the actress, the babies and Jolie's partner, Brad Pitt, "are doing marvelously well." The boy weighed just over 5 pounds and the girl 5 pounds. The 33-year-old actress gave birth at around 8 p.m. on Saturday night.Pitt was there during the operation, said the doctor, who delivered the twins at the seaside Lenval hospital in Nice in southern France. Sussmann said Jolie gave birth to a boy, Knox Leon, and a girl, Vivienne Marcheline, by Caesarean section on Saturday night.He told the AP on Sunday morning that the boy weighed just over 5 pounds and the girl 5 pounds. The 33-year-old actress gave birth at around 8 p.m. on Saturday night.Pitt was there during the operation, said the doctor, who delivered the twins at the seaside Lenval hospital in Nice in southern France."Everything is going well," said Sussmann. "The mother, the babies, the father are doing marvelously well."He said the Caesarean was moved forward from its originally planned date "for medical reasons" so that the babies could be born "in the best conditions." Sussman did not give details.He said Jolie is expected to stay in the hospital for a few more days. The doctor said he believed the baby girl's middle name was chosen in honor of Jolie's mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand, who died in January 2007 after a 7 1/2-year battle with cancer.Jolie and Pitt already have four children: Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2.Jolie had checked into the hospital late last month to rest and be monitored by her doctor before the birth. Before that, she, Pitt and their children had moved into a large estate, Miraval, in the French hamlet of Correns, which is just a short helicopter ride from the hospital. Correns is about 60 miles from Nice, a resort on the Mediterranean.Though the lenses of the world's paparazzi had been trained on maternity wards across the French Riviera, Jolie managed to slip unobserved into the clinic, which has magnificent views of the Mediterranean, reportedly arriving by helicopter on the hospital's rooftop helipad.Pitt was seen coming and going after Jolie's hospitalization became public.The first photos of the new twins are expected to fetch millions of dollars.Paparazzi gathered outside the hospital in Nice on Sunday morning, hoping for a shot of Pitt. Local newspaper Nice Matin, which first broke news of the birth, reported Sunday that the couple have sold rights for the first photo of their newly enlarged family to a U.S. publication, which it did not name, and that the proceeds would go to charity.The newspaper gave no source for that information. But the doctor told the AP the couple decided to announce the birth to Nice Matin first because of its links to Nice. The newspaper called the twins "the most famous babies in the world."Earlier this week, the hospital said it had coated the windows of Jolie's room with a special material to prevent paparazzi from taking unauthorized pictures of the star couple. The hospital said photos in magazines and on the Internet which purported to show Jolie and Pitt in their room were fake, either manipulated or showing other patients at the hospital. Tourists and residents of Nice, a popular resort, welcomed news of the birth. The city's mayor, Christian Estrosi, told the press that the twins will always be considered honorary citizens of the city, regardless of whether they opt to obtain French citizenship. Estrosi said it was a "very great honor" for Nice that the Hollywood couple chose to give birth there.

Former world number one Bernhard Langer has raised doubts that Tiger Woods will play again. Langer has been prone to injury himself but nothing as serious as the knee and leg injuries that have caused Woods to take the rest of the year off. On Thursday at the BMW International Open, Langer said: “I don’t know exactly what he has but I talked to a couple of physios and they said it’s a serious injury. There could be some chance that he might not play again—or play to the level he has. “I hope that won’t be the case. He’s very determined and he’s a great athlete. We’ve seen it before in other athletes, that they have come back when doctors have told them they have no chance.” Langer, twice a U.S. Masters winner and twice Europe’s number one, is now carving out a successful career on the American Champions tour after winning 42 times on the European Tour. He is sure a rival for Woods will come along. “If he (Woods) stays healthy he’s got another 10, 15 very good years ahead of him. But sooner or later there will be somebody coming along who is just as good or maybe better.”

Gordon Ramsay Opens 'Hell's Kitchen' at The London West Hollywood

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Gordon Ramsay is in a California state of mind. The fiery Scottish chef and star of Fox's "Hell's Kitchen" and "Kitchen Nightmares" was all smiles at the opening of his latest restaurant, Gordon Ramsay at The London West Hollywood, on Wednesday evening. The event was attended by celebrity guests such as "Will and & Grace" co-star Eric McCormack, "Survivor" host Jeff Probst, Kim Kardashian and David Beckman. So why did Ramsay decide to set up shop on the West Coast? "It's less aggressive than New York," he told The Associated Press in the kitchen during the opening celebration. "Vegas? I don't want to play my card in Las Vegas. It's materialistic. Here, it's proper. I'm very happy to be here. Everything is in abundance in California." Ramsay said the restaurant, located at The London West Hollywood hotel just off the Sunset Strip, took two years to open. Designed by David Collins, the space features several private dining rooms, wood floors and gold- and pastel-accented furniture. The menu will draw from seasonal ingredients. During the soiree, Beckham mingled with Ramsay, his wife and the kitchen staff behind the scenes while sipping a pint of beer. Ramsay, a former professional soccer player himself, said he and the Los Angeles Galaxy player "go back a long way." "It's nice having him here," said Ramsay. "He's going to be cooking in (the) kitchen tomorrow night." Ramsay will soon welcome another person in the kitchen of the new restaurant: the winner of the fourth season of "Hell's Kitchen." The champion will be offered a job as senior sous-chef at Gordon Ramsay at The London West Hollywood with a $250,000 salary. The season finale is scheduled to air July 8.

SALT LAKE CITY -- David Archuleta has a job lined up once his "American Idol" tour is over - not that there was any doubt. The 17-year-old "Idol" runner-up has signed a deal with 19 Recordings/Jive Records, according to a Tuesday post on the Web site of the label managed by "Idol" creator Simon Fuller. David Cook, 25, a former bartender from Blue Springs, Mo., won the "American Idol" title when the sixth season of Fox's top-rated singing competition wrapped up May 21. The title comes with a recording contract.
