About Me
In recruitment business 20+ years - seen it all. Looking for real innovation but hardly ever see any. treat your candidates and clients with respect, only deal with ethical companies - don't touch the minimum/slave-wage sector - be professional - that works and will work in a recession too when the gimmick guys and the sharks go by the wayside.

Jobpod and job kiosks are already an outdated concept. Back in the day this sort of thing may have been a genuine USP but that day was about a decade ago. Phone boxes have all but gone in the UK, because everyone has a mobile - so why anyone would sit in front of one of these in a crowded room during a thing as personal as interview is beyond me. Most people also have their own internet access too. There is no substitute for a proper candidate / agency relationship be it through a branch or a million other meeting places. Video has been tried many times before in recruitment and has never actually proved to be valuable beyond the "gimmick" look-at-how-high-tech we are stage. The enduring recruiters are the ones that understand the market they operate in and are dedicated to their clients and candidates. Whoever these Edge UK guys are, if they are ok in other departments then they might survive but this sort of gimmick isn't the way forward and clearly does not add the sort of value their boss thinks it does!
