The evening saw the coming together of the hotel and nightclub industry, and there was more. The winners of the Times Food Guide award had stalls where they served what they cooked best Lebanese, Chinese, Continental, South Indian, North Indian, Bengali, Gujarati, Parsi, Goan, sinful dessert and heavenly coffee. A unity in diversity, the tastiest grub in the city was up for grabs and the elite did little to keep count of their calorie intake or even feel embarrassed about their large appetite. But everyone was in the mood the chefs were in the mood to feed, and the guests were in the mood to eat! The 'icing on the cake', however, was the impressive star power an ingredient that made the event what it was. 'Spicy' Salman Khan, the 'piquant' jodi of Ajay Devgan and Kajol, 'delicious' Kareena Kapoor, 'beefed-up' John Abraham, 'sweet' Imran Khan... graced the occasion and gave away the awards. All our actors claim to be die-hard foodies, in spite of their hot bods...and binge once in a while. While Kareena insists she's a typical Punjabi kudi and loves food, John Abe says that he eats everything and works out very hard to burn his intake. Ajay Devgan isn't too fussy about khaana , and prefers desi food to the pastas and pizzas, while Sallu enjoys his grub, too, but opts for mom-made food most often! The evening ended on a crunchy note...with all and sundry filling the bellies with the city's best deli's..., and asking one question ever so often: 'What's cooking?' According to some Indian newspapers, Abhishek Bachchan was approached by Yash Raj head Aditya Chopra for a small but essential role in the Rani Mukherjee and Shahid Kapur starrer. A source reveals, “Abhishek was offered a small but significant role in the Yash Raj banner project the shooting for which has already begun now. He declined the offer due to Rani Mukherjee. He now does not work with Rani after his marriage with Aishwarya Rai. He had earlier done a cameo in their Laaga Chunari Mein Daag (2007) opposite Rani so it was taken for granted that he would say yes”. The hoopla also created widespread speculation in India and abroad, resulting in rumours that Shilpa could be the likely choice for the next Bond girl.
